“I train thoroughbreds full-time for a living at
the top level of the sport, but also dabble in harness horse
ownership. I’ve employed Jim Tracy as one of my harness trainers
because he trains and cares for his horses the way horses should be
trained and cared for -- with an emphasis on horsemanship and
getting the most out of each horse. This type of care in my business
would cost between $75-$100 per day. Yet, Superior Standardbred
offers it at $30 per day.”
Chuck Simon, thoroughbred trainer at Gulfstream
Park and Saratoga Racecourse.
"Jim, Congratulations on Lights Out. We always knew he had the
ability, but it took someone with your patience and skill to bring
it out."
An excerpt from an e-mail sent to Superior
Standardbred from Peter Gerry of Arden Homestead Stables after a
trotter formerly owned by him lowered his lifetime mark, twice,
while under the care of Superior Standardbred.
“I’ve trained and worked with standardbreds for close to 20 years.
When I decided I needed to take some time off one year, I told my
owner to give my top mare to Jim Tracy because I knew I could trust
him to give her the best care. I could have given her to a number of
top trainers, but I felt most comfortable that she would get the
best training with Jim.”
Ed Clement, standardbred owner and trainer
“I’ve been around all the big stables as a turf
writer, covering the Kentucky Derby, Breeders Crown, and Saratoga
Racecourse. Jim Tracy’s hands-on approach with harness horses, in my
opinion, is better than the so-called mega trainers I’ve seen with
large stables of horses. That’s not training race horses, that’s
managing people.”
